On the evening of May 3, 2021, Glenn liked one of Lauren’s photos on Hinge (because where else do 30-somethings meet these days?). She could sense immediately that he was a nice guy and was open to connecting. Yes, friends and family, this story does indeed show us that a few images and a brief bio can actually tell you enough about a person’s life to get the conversation started. Even more, that Lauren’s Pisces intuition was spot on, and she’s truly proud of that fact. After several days of messages, texts, phone calls, and a Zoom (yes, dating in 2020 and 2021 involved a lot of virtual meetups), they met for dinner in-person. Although Lauren embarrassingly spilled a little on her top and Glenn one-upped her by tripping over his own two feet, they laughed a ton and the conversation flowed so well that Glenn shot his luck with a first kiss at the end of the night. Don’t worry, everyone it was a completely respectable move. Go Glenn! Then, of course, he got on the wrong train going home. You can’t win ‘em all! And so, the story builds from here. Glenn was smitten from then on, while Lauren, although knowing she truly enjoyed his company, tried to keep him at an arm’s distance in order to sort out her feelings. You see, she had a habit of falling too hard, too fast, and sometimes love is as both scary as it is amazing. As the late spring turned into summer, these two couldn’t doubt that what they had was real as they spent more and more time together— in and around all of Jersey, of course— she obviously took the boy outta the Bronx for good and he actually stepped out of Hoboken once or twice! On August 29th, Glenn was fully anointed into the club by openly agreeing to attending one of the many nonprofit fundraising events, Lauren was hosting (IYKYK.) This time, she didn’t have to strong-arm, so she was thrilled! It also probably helped that the event was an afternoon game at the Somerset Patriots, a Yankees affiliate team, although she still likes to believe it was ONLY because of her that he attended. Due to the fun atmosphere that night, love was in the air and Lauren agreed to an exclusive relationship, even though everyone else could see, especially Glenn, that they were already in one. She just needed to say it out loud for herself. Yes everyone, we know this was just as confusing then as it reads now. She exclaimed that they should officially mark their relationship (again, semantics) later that week on 9/3, exactly four months after they first connected. It was just cute and they obviously needed a real anniversary! One month in was soon celebrated and Glenn started a tradition of buying a beautiful bouquet of flowers for Lauren on the 3rd of every month. Yes, this still happens now, and no, Lauren isn’t yet tired of it. (You get it now, right? She knew they needed an actual date to mark milestones!) Just as quickly as that month passed, so did one wonderful year of firsts celebrated together! They went glamping, hosted their first Christmas Eve Feast of the Seven Fishes, and moved in together. The great times kept coming! And a little after two years strong, on their trip to Italy, Glenn proposed on 11/11/23 at the Trevi Fountain in Rome, his biggest boss move yet! Soon after they celebrate three years "officially official" they're so excited to have you join them to mark their next and forevermore anniversary as a couple on 11/24/24, when they say "I do!" If you haven't guessed by now, they have a thing about special dates, repeating numbers, and incredible moments shared together and with those that they love.
